Ancient Varna (1/2 day trip by bus)

All entrance fees and professional guide service are included.
The gem of the Bulgarian Black Sea is a city where ancient, mediaeval, renaissance and modern cultures mingle and coexist in harmony. The history of Varna roots back to the second half of the 5th millennium BC. You’ll meet this ages-old past in the Archaeological Museum, where the Eneolitic golden treasure – the oldest gold in the world – is kept. Another city landmark is the Church of the Assumption – second in scale after St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral in Sofia. It’s a perfectly preserved example of the modern Byzantine architecture with spacious interior, woodcarved iconostasis and strained glass. Then the ruins of old Roman Thermal Baths - the largest Roman public building in Bulgaria - will remind you the glory of the ancient Greek polis Odessos. And at the end of the trip you’ll wash away the weariness of the day while tasting wines from Varna region and from the oldest wine cellar on the Balkans.
