Nessebar - Pomorie - Sozopol

Nessebar is located on a small peninsula in the Black Sea, which is linked with the land only by a long and narrow isthmus. Nessebar is best known for the old town (about 9000 years) on the peninsula. Today the old part of the town has regained its original romantic atmosphere: narrow cobblestone lanes, tiny squares, two-storeied period houses with stone-built ground levels and wooden upper floors jutting above the streets and external staircases, gift shops, pubs, tavern and lovely flower gardens.

The resort Pomorie possesses the unique nature which makes it an attractive place for year-round recreation and treatment of various diseases. The town of Pomorie (about 14 500 inhabitants) is situated on a narrow rocky peninsula, jutting out 3,5 km on The Black Sea, 20 km away from Bourgas and 18 km away from the resort Sunny Beach.

Sozopol is the oldest town on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The first settlement at these places dates back to IV - III B.C. The undersea explorations in the region of the port reveal relics of dwellings, ceramic pottery, stone and bone tools from the bronze era.
